(Okay technically it's 3AM and yesterday was my birthday, but who cares?)
It was a pretty good one. I was up in Driggs for the first half of the day. We made dry-ice bombs and blew things up. I drove down to Springville in a little manual-transmission pickup truck.
I've never really driven manual before!
It was like learning how to drive all over again! By the end of the trip though I was okay at it. I still fail (you can ask Jeremy) but I don't fail as much. It's pretty fun.
Then I ate pumpkin pie and a bunch of Kimberly's friends came by and played games. Alecia and Scott and Jeremy also came. We put 400 post-it notes on somebody's door. Then I came home and talked with Kimberly for a while and wasted too much time on the computer.
How was your Friday the 13th?

I'm glad you had a great birthday. If I'd known you were in Springville, I would have come to say Happy Birthday in person. But I had no idea which state/country/universe you were in, so I had to resort to a blog post. Sorry.
Anyway, congrats you old man! Nineteen! Wow, I'm glad I'M not that ancient!
Heh. That's fantastic. :) I've just commandeered a manual from my sister-in-law, and they are absolutely smashing. Friday the 13th... was dull. I had school and worked. :( But... yes. You are 19, Logan, how do you feel? :)
P.S. As of today, it has been one full month since your last post.
This displeases me.
I would like to point out that you are 4 days from the 2 month mark. Inexcusable.
I'm warning you, you cannot escape social interaction forever! I am a college student, remember? I'm desperate for time-wasters, and you've given me an excellent excuse for one:
I'm going to comment on your blog EVERY DAY until you post again. MUA HA HA HA!!!
No, really, I am. Checking up on your blog used to be the only way I ever knew what you were up to (or whether you had fallen off the face of the earth). I grow concerned for your safety. If you aren't posting, it must be because you are dead!
Therefore, if I post every day for the next month and you STILL don't post - at least to explain yourself - then I'm coming to your house with black roses and paying my respect to your parents.
Or, you know, every couple of days. I AM a rather busy person and don't always manage to get onto the computer for fun every day.
Hello, again. It's me. You remember me, we used to go to school together. I'm the girl behind the foot that used to bruise your shins in Middle School.
Anyway, things are going pretty well here in ZoobieLand. It's funny to watch the seasons here:
Late Summer - young men and women cast furtive glances at each other across the lawn.
Early Autumn - the flirt fest begins as men and women alike race to claim their mate before they're left the odd one out.
Late Autumn - the campus looks like Noah's ark, everyone walking about in twos, making eyes at each other and holding hands.
Early Winter - couples decide who's house to go to for Christmas, because there's no way they're spending two weeks apart.
Late Winter - the student body takes on a new shine from the engagement rings glittering on nearly a third of the female population. (not an exaggeration.)
And through it all, I sequester myself in my apartment and do homework. People are beginning to be disappointed in my lack of social interaction. But I'm just too tired - from getting up at three in the morning to dragging my carcass to bed after I've finally finished my homework - simply too tired to try to make new friends.
(*sigh*) This, too, shall pass.
I wonder what you're up to. Do you hide in your room all day, too, reading and drawing? Do you work all day and play with your ever-expanding family all night? Maybe you're a party-animal, working on catching up to Eric's experience level. (Eric! I still can't believe he was the first!)
Well, wherever you are, I hope you're staying happy and warm. See ya someday, Logan.

Dear Logan,
Today I mistook a fire hydrant for a three-year-old girl.
I really need to start getting more sleep.

To My Log-Sitting Turtle Friend,
Today was a really good day. I finished all of my homework early, so I get extra sleep tonight, (ALWAYS exciting). Also, I got to go on a field trip for my Creative Writing class. We went to the MOA and wandered around looking for inspiration. It was an excellent way to spend an hour.
OH! I forgot to tell you! ...no, wait. I shan't tell you. See, I bought a most awesome object at Pirate Island last Saturday. But I can't just TELL you what it is. I have to SHOW you. Hmmm. Well, next time I'm in Springville maybe I'll stop by your house and see if you're there. If you aren't, I can always show it to Natalie. She'd think it was cool.
This is getting really long, and you're probably sick of it anyway. Oh well. It's your own fault, you know. If you'd POST something once in a while . . .
From That Girl with the Face
Hello again. It is Friday, a most glorious occasion, and I am filled with happy thoughts. (Crockett would be proud.) I just came from Creative Writing, which was great for my self-esteem - see my blog for more details - and now I get to laze around, read a book, go to sleep, whatever I want! I LOVE weekends!
Beth, Erin and I hung out last night. Naturally, Spenser came along (I haven't seen Beth or Spenser apart in weeks). It was good to hang out with him, though. He's pretty cool, and I feel like I didn't get to know him well enough when we were in high school.
Cari auditioned for the Junior High musical yesterday. She sang "Honey, Honey" from Mamma Mia. I was really nervous for her, but she made callbacks! She'll sing today after school. If she gets in, I'm gonna go see her, even if the play this year IS "High School Musical." You should come. We'll get a bunch of people and we can all gag together.
Hope things are well in Springville/Idaho/Wherever!

Hello again. I figured that since you were subject to the real-life me yesterday, I would give you a break from the cyber me. However, a day seems long enough. You should have recovered sufficiently by now to be able to stomach another of my incessant ramblings.
Except that I don't have much to say tonight. My life (as a full-time student and part-time custodian) is rather dull. To the point where even my roommates are bored of me. No. Seriously.
Just so you aren't under some false delusion, let me tell you something: College is NOT glamorous. You do not magically get a million friends and meet the love of your life and never have any homework and hardly ever have to go to work. That is simply not the way of things.
Don't get me wrong. It can be fun and exciting. But it isn't that way by nature. If you want adventure and parties, you have to go find them. The only thing college hands to you willingly is homework. Lots and LOTS of homework.
Goodness, I sound really miserable, don't I? Sorry. I have loved a lot of things about college. But I guess right now I'm kind of in a rut. Spinning my wheels. Wondering why I don't just get out of the car and walk.
But don't listen to me. College is great! Everyone who walks around me on campus seems to be having a grand old time. And I'm sure you could have an excellent time just about anywhere. I miss that about you and Eric.
Anyways, here's me, signing out from Provo and crawling into bed.

Oh where, oh where has my little Logan gone? Oh where, oh where could he be? With his tales cut short and his absence cut long, oh where, oh where is he?
We miss the musings and shtuff...where are you man?
It's like a widow writing to her dead husband. Only funnier. And better written. (I don't know how you do it Jess)
HEY LOGAN! GET OFF YOUR BUM, (or onto it as the case may be) AND TELL US ABOUT YOUR LIFE! yeah.
Or just post funny youtube clips. That's what I do.
Yo, listen up. Here's a story
About a little girl that lives in a blue world.
And all day and all night and everything she sees
Is just blue, like her. Inside and outside...
--
When you live at BYU, everything really is all blue, all the time. I have that song stuck in my head all the time, walking around campus.
--
Another drive-by hi from an old friend you can't shake no matter how neglectful you are with your blog. :)
Hey Logan,
How's it going? I was thinking about you and Eric and old times today and I missed you. I hope things are well.
Things are really overwhelming right now, but I am happy in spurts. I treasure every moment of sleep I get and celebrate checking things off my to-do list even when it barely makes a dent in everything that must be done.
I want to go country dancing. I need to get away. I'll get all gussied up and go shock some cowboys on Saturday. (I clean up pretty nice. They'll be surprised.)
First I have to survive this week. Today was crammed but it's only Monday and it's not gonna get any better. College is all about almost drowning, coming up and getting a breath of fresh air, and diving back into the storm-tossed waves. It's crazy. WE'RE crazy, but then, who didn't know that of college students?
Hope all is well at your chocolate-cake house. Tell everyone there that I said hi.
- Jessica Grosland
P.S. Do you love how I always sign these things, even though Blogger automatically puts my name on the comment anyway?
- Jessica Grosland
Loooooogaaaaaan? Where are you man?
Jessica could have, and probably should have, created a blog just from the comments she made to your last post.
Can't you see that your fans are dying to hear from you?
Cyberland isn't the same without you.
Hey, Logan.
. . . . . . . . . yep.
Okay! See you later!
- Jessica Grosland
Good news. The word on the street is that you're not dead. Reports are that you were seen at a certain Reams in Springville, carrying much frozen pizza. Well, now we know that at least you're not wasting your life away eating junk food and watching TV. (*rolls eyes sarcastically*)
Sometimes I wonder if anyone would tell me if you died, just dropped dead of some horrible disease. My guess is that I would continue to write these pointless messages for several months - receiving just as much feedback as ever - before I ran into Kimberly on campus and asked how you were and she said, "Oh, you haven't heard? He died, like, in February."
My best friend for almost ten years and I don't even know if your heart's still beating. This is fantastic. I LOVE it when you ignore me for weeks and weeks.
Anyway, this is getting really boring for you, I'm sure. If you cared what was going on in my life you'd ask. So I'll do what you obviously wish and leave you alone.
Sorry I'm such an annoyance.
- Jessica Grosland
Since I, at least, have a tendency to be considerate, I am posting this epilogue of a comment; solely to congratulate your family on bringing another child into the world. Please give my best wishes to your mother as well as to Violet. She is beautiful.
